Jeff BrownJeff Brown, CEO
Mr. Brown originally joined the Nordic team in 2008 as Chief Operations Officer prior to being voted to the position of Chief Executive Officer in May of 2011. His expertise spans manufacturing, service, and quality with nearly three decades of experience at General Electric.
His last assignment was Region General Manager within GE Energy’s Contractual Services business, with responsibility for long-term service contracts for heavy gas and steam turbines in the power industry. During his tenure in this position, the business averaged 70% annual sales growth in his portfolio, from approximately $90M to $380M over six years. Previous roles included General Manager Customer Quality, with global sales and customer service responsibility, and New Products Introduction Manager, with a $100M budget and responsibility for manufacturing, sourcing, quality and testing of gas turbines.
Other experience included positions of increasing responsibility within GE Aviation, including Six Sigma Black Belt, Manager Quality Assurance, Sourcing Manager and Product Quality Engineer.
Mr. Brown is a graduate in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University and received his MBA from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
Thomas WagnerTom Wagner, Head of Engineering
Mr. Wagner's career started at Knolls Atomic Power Lab (11 years), followed by General Electric Company (15 years), Hess Microgen (1 year) and Gas Turbine Efficiency (5 years). While at GE, Tom was general manager responsible for wind turbine technology leadership following GE's acquisition of the wind turbine business from Enron Wind in 2002. Prior to that, he was responsible for gas turbine generator engineering and design at GE Energy.
His product development approach emphasizes engineering into the product's design quality and reliability right from the start. In his various engineering management roles at his former companies, Tom was diligent in developing, registering and protecting intellectual property and know-how. He also has spent much of his time focusing his teams on systematic product reliability and performance improvements.
Tom has a Masters in Mechanics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelors of Engineering from Cornell University.
Dennis SchultzDennis Schultz, Director Supply Chain
Mr. Schultz joined Nordic Windpower in 2008 as Quality Director focused on establishing the Company’s Quality Management System. Once the QMS was in place, Dennis turned his attention to the selection, qualification and oversight of Tier 1 suppliers worldwide. His role expanded into Director of Supply Chain in 2010 continuing to monitor Nordic’s key suppliers and establishing a 24/7 collaboration site to communicate delivery schedules and provide real time engineering change notifications assuring seamless deliveries of components.
Prior to Nordic, Mr. Schultz was COO for Suzlon Rotor Corporation and championed this green field start up of Suzlon’s first U.S. manufacturing plant in Minnesota. Under Dennis’ leadership, the plant achieved completion of the first certified set of 43m blades within 90 days of the plant opening. Mr. Schultz has extensive product development experience gained in engineering positions with LISI Aerospace and Microdot Inc. As VP of Engineering at LISI, Dennis led his engineering team to submit multiple proposals for new product applications securing several U.S. and European patents helping LISI to introduce products on new aircraft programs while maintaining extended royalties on their legacy products.
Mr. Schultz has a M.S. degree in Engineering and a M.A. in Vocational Education with a lifetime teaching credential in Manufacturing and Related Technologies. Dennis holds fourteen U.S. and European patents ranging from composite fasteners to automation devices used in aircraft assembly.
Stephen_BrownStephen Brown, Director of Engineering
Stephen has a strong background in technology leadership for the engineering, development, delivery & service of world class engineered products .In addition, Stephen has more than a decade of technical experience in mechanical power transmission in design and manufacture, which he has applied through authoring technical papers as well as consultancy. He has been part of the Nordic Management Team since February 2010.
His career started at Rolls Royce Industrial Power Group (during his University studies), followed by Llewellin’s Machine Company (13 years) and Vestas Wind Systems R&D (2 years). During employment at Vestas Stephen managed a Technology and R&D global Business unit predominately working on composite blade R&D as well as mechanical systems. He led a strong team of managers, product specialists, engineers and technicians who were responsible for specifying, designing, manufacturing, testing and documentation of turbine prototypes and equipment. Prior to this, as Technical Director and a member of the Board at Llewellin’s he headed product design, development and interface with manufacturing. He was a key technical as well as front line commercial leader of the organization.
Stephen’s demonstrated design and product development as well as re-engineering and trouble-shooting successes during his career has proven to the companies he has worked for his potential. During several engineering management roles he has been strongly engaged in IP and documented know-how thus ensuring company performance, competitiveness and growth in target markets. Stephen also has spent much of his time focusing his teams on systematic product design, manufacturing and implementation. Stephen has an Honors Degree in Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
Charles GamblePhillip Dickinson, Director of Sales & Marketing
Phillip Dickinson joined Nordic Windpower in February 2010 as the Director of Sales & Marketing. He has more than 15 years of sales, marketing, and commercial operations experience with large, global corporations, including General Electric, Siemens, and Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He has established himself as an expert in the power generation industry, with over 13 years experience with original equipment manufacturers and service providers that serve the industry.
As a proven sales leader, Mr. Dickinson has represented various products and services with both long and short sales cycles, ranging from renewable and fossil fueled power generation equipment to sensing technologies. His career progression has included 9 years in management and 5 years of international experience with 2 years living abroad.
Mr. Dickinson received his MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia and his BSME from the University of Alabama.
Nordic Windpower is a technology developer and manufacturer of innovative, two-bladed 1MW wind turbines ideally suited for community wind, on-site generation, and small wind farm development.
